Following Jeonbuk and Incheon, this time Seoul… Saemangeum Jamboree’s ‘K-League Brutal History’

As much as the 2023 bird, the hasty administration of the World Scout Jamboree headed to the home stadium of K League 1 FC Seoul this time.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced that a K-Pop concert, which also serves as the closing ceremony of the 2023 Saemangeum Jamboree, will be held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium at 7:00 pm on the 11th.

It was originally scheduled to be held at a special outdoor stage in Saemangeum at 8:00 pm on the 6th, but it was postponed due to safety concerns. Afterwards, it was announced that it would be held at Jeonju World Cup Stadium in Jeonbuk on the 11th, but the venue was changed to Seoul World Cup Stadium again in the aftermath of a northbound typhoon.

The Seoul World Cup Stadium, which was well-received for its ‘hybrid grass’, seems to be unavoidable from damaging the grass. Seoul World Cup Stadium operates a ground with a mixture of natural and artificial turf.

The turf at the Seoul World Cup Stadium worked well during the pre-season friendly match between Atletico Madrid (Spain) and Manchester City (England) on the 30th of last month. At that time, heavy rain poured down just before kickoff, and the ground was filled with rainwater. However, the time multiplied quickly and the game ended normally.토토사이트

K-pop performances are held on the grass. In particular, as the structure is installed on the ground, damage to the lawn is inevitable. Also, many spectators are expected to watch the performance on the ground.

A football official expressed concern, saying, “If the grass is damaged due to this performance, the performance of K League 1 players who will play at the Seoul World Cup Stadium may deteriorate.”

Previously, Jeonbuk Hyundai and Incheon United had canceled the FA Cup schedule due to the hasty administration of the Jamboree Organizing Committee. Jeonbuk and Incheon were scheduled to play the FA Cup semi-finals at Jeonju World Cup Stadium on the afternoon of the 9th.

However, on the 6th, the organizing committee unilaterally notified that a K-pop concert would be held at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium, and Jeonbuk could not play the FA Cup at home.

Incheon also finished booking accommodation and renting a training ground to prepare for the away FA Cup, but returned home after paying a penalty. Fans also canceled reservations such as lodging and returned.

In the end, the venue for the K-pop concert was changed to the Seoul World Cup Stadium, but it was after the FA Cup semifinal match between Jeonbuk and Incheon had already been postponed.
