Smart will be out for a while with an ankle injury.
The Memphis Grizzlies’ Marcus Smart will miss three to five weeks with an ankle injury, The Athletic’s Shams Carania reported on Monday (Nov. 18).
Smart injured his ankle in a game against the Lakers on Dec. 15, heading to the locker room midway through the game and ending up being sidelined for quite some time.
Smart, who has been on the court in a Boston uniform since his rookie season in 2014-2015 until last season and has been one of the league’s best defensive guards, including being named Defensive Player of the Year in 2022, found a new home in Memphis via trade prior to this season.
With his new team, Smart has averaged 12.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 29.9 minutes in 11 games this season. 캡틴토토 주소
For Memphis, the season has gotten off to a bad start. Just before opening night, news broke that starting center Steven Adams was out for the season with knee surgery, and now the veteran Smart is out as well.
With Desmond Baines and Jaren Jackson Jr. on the court but missing several key pieces, Memphis is now 2-9 in its first 11 games, including being the last team in the league to pick up its first win after dropping its opening six games.
