‘Women unite to represent the K League’ 2023 K-WIN CUP to be held on October 14th

Female amateur players representing the K League will gather in Jecheon to compete against each other.

The 2023 K-WIN CUP, hosted by the Korea Professional Football Association, will be held at the Jecheon Soccer Center from October 14 to 15. This year’s K League Queen Cup is sponsored by Blade Creative, Jecheon City, Lingtee, and Dongwon Spring Water, and funded by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Organization.

The Federation has been organizing the K League Cup every year since 2010 to promote women’s amateur soccer. Previously, it was a club soccer tournament for female college students, but since last year, it has been reorganized into an adult women’s futsal tournament where K League clubs select their own players and form teams to compete.안전놀이터

The tournament has expanded from 12 teams last year to 25 teams this year, including all K League clubs, and the format has changed from futsal to six-a-side mini-soccer, making it easier for amateur players to participate with relatively simple rules.

The K League clubs organized their teams in a variety of ways. Cheongju FC and Gimpo FC in Chungcheongbuk-do have their own players, Busan I-Park’s Eo Jung-won’s sister plays for them, Bucheon FC 1995, which features 2006 Doha Asian Games golf gold medalist Jeong Jae-eun, and Suwon Samseong and Daejeon Hana Citizen, which are the winners of club-sponsored futsal competitions.

On October 14, the first day of the K League Queen Cup, after the opening ceremony, the teams will compete in five groups of five teams in a full league format. The game style is six-a-side mini soccer, with 15 minutes for each half, and the number of substitutions is unlimited. After every game, the teams will have a recreational socializing session to socialize with each other, and then the draw for the ranked tournament will be held to hear scoresheets, impressions, and more.

The next day, on the 15th, we’ll have a ranked tournament, with the winner of the 1st place tournament finals taking home the championship. All other ranked tournaments will have a winner’s bracket and a loser’s bracket to ensure that all participating teams can enjoy the tournament without being eliminated early.

After every match, there will be an awards ceremony and closing ceremony. The team awards include the tournament winner and runner-up, and the Fair Play Award was added this year, while the individual awards include the MVP for each group in addition to the top scorer.

The Federation provided full support to all teams participating in the K League Women’s Soccer Queen Cup, including training subsidies, transportation, accommodation, and more. The Federation will also strive to expand the base of women’s soccer and revitalize sports culture through the K League Women’s Soccer Queen Cup, and will continue to actively promote integrated marketing with K League clubs.
